Sunday Dinner


This is our second meal with the Shiitakes and my personal favorite. Ribeye steak smothered in Shiitakes. The mushrooms were sautéed in butter, olive oil, and white wine vinegar, Yum! The sides are Baby Kale salad and baked sweet potato. This was an five star meal served in our very own kitchen. Don't forget the red wine!

Ok, so I harvested some mushrooms...


Dear Blog, 
I meant to take pictures of the mushrooms after I harvested them for the Chicken Coconut Curry soup that we served for the Fiesta Bowl. The truth is, we were hustling to get everything done before our dinner guests arrived and it was a last-minute, "hey, it looks like some of these mushrooms are ready!" Type thing. As you can see, there are more coming all the time! 
By the way, the mushrooms were yummy in the soup.

We Have Shiitakes- Day 3


Wow! Once the mushrooms begin they grow rapidly! I can already taste them sautéed in butter:) according to the instructions, we have approximately 11 days until harvest and hopefully 25 days of production.
